Hey y’all! Weekly Wrap Up is a bleep where I give quick recap about my blog, reading adventures, and life in general of the past week. I also may include some rambling!
If you have a Sunday post like this, please leave a comment. I’d love to check it out!
- Circe by Madeliene Miller
This book came to my attention because I had picked it for my Book of the Month for March. Having read The Song of Achilles. I am excited to dig into this one.
Mythology is so intriguing to me. So far I am intrigued by Circe. Miller writes this mythical character but makes them so relatable.
Here’s all the posts from this past week, in case you missed it!
- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
HOLY MOLY!!!! Check out my blog post: Incredible Reads: Part 2
Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
Greece in the age of heroes. Patroclus, an awkward young prince, has been exiled to the court of King Peleus and his perfect son Achilles. By all rights their paths should never cross, but Achilles takes the shamed prince as his friend, and as they grow into young men skilled in the arts of war and medicine their bond blossoms into something deeper – despite the displeasure of Achilles’ mother Thetis, a cruel sea goddess. But then word comes that Helen of Sparta has been kidnapped. Torn between love and fear for his friend, Patroclus journeys with Achilles to Troy, little knowing that the years that follow will test everything they hold dear.
Profoundly moving and breathtakingly original, this rendering of the epic Trojan War is a dazzling feat of the imagination, a devastating love story, and an almighty battle between gods and kings, peace and glory, immortal fame and the human heart.
My reads for next week are:
- To Kill a Kingdom By Alexandra Christo
- White Houses by Amy Bloom
When they say life is a marathon not a sprint obviouslt never had a week like mine. LOL I just felt like I was dragging it like a ball and chain.
How else felt this way this week?
Summer is inching closer and my patience is thin. I think my kids would agree. We are wokring quickly to line-up swimming lessons and camps for the boys. We like to relax but we also love going on adventures.
The girls and I are excited for the summer beach trip. The hubby and I are planning on a few parent-only getaways. This time of year our suitcases and weekend bags get a lot of use.
We also had an event with our carnival krewe. They hosted a crawfish boil-off and car show. We had a great time eating our way through 10 teams of crawfish Each time boils with there own special blend of seasoning in an effort to win 1st prize. Everyone attending get an armband that allows them to go around to all the teams and try theirs out. Lots of crawfish was eaten yesterday but it was a great day with beautiful weather.
- Finish the laundry…like washed, dried, folded and picked up. (We lived out of baskets this past week…LOL)
- Get back on pace for my Goodreads Challenge goal cause currently I am 2 book behind…The struggle is real with this. Grrrrrrr!
- Do a Tabata Circuit each morning before work.
- Continue my Dawson’s Creek-Hulu binge (It is still as good as I remember)
That’s all y’all…LOL! How was your week? Have you read any of the books I listed…give me the scoop? Any thoughts about my week? Let me know in the comments!
