Black Coffee – Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans
Marie Lu’s Legend series is on every YA Best Series list. I have checked it out a few times, started it but has serious trouble getting anywhere. I may have to try again this summer.
Peppermint Mocha – Name a book that gets more popular during the winter or a festive time of year
I thoroughly enjoyed this winter series from Elin Hilderbrand. Her books is amazing. They are warm reads on those cold days. Her writing is wonderful.
Hot Chocolate – What is your favourite children’s book?
Who doesn’t want to run around with the wild things?! The adventure, the escape, the excitement…it was always my go-to each night for my mom to read to me. Now as a mother my boys love to “roar their terrible roars” as well.
Double Shot of Espresso: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish
I am currently hooked on this book. The fact the three character begin their story unconnected to each other but like a train wreck, they are thrust together. I am dying to see how their journey’s kept intersecting.
This my kinda edge your seat since I don’t read suspense/thriller.
Starbucks – Name a book you see everywhere
This was a Book of the Month choice for March 2018. Since then, I have seen this book all over my Instagram and store bookshelves.
That Hipster Coffee Shop – Give a book by an indie author a shoutout
The Last Equations of Isaac Severy…I have also seen this cover everywhere but decided to put this for my indie shout out. I may have to check this out.
Oops! I Accidentally Got Decaf – Name a book you were expecting more from
Even though I enjoyed Bright as Heaven, I was left wanting more. The pace seemed to drag a bit. I just wanted to love it but didn’t.
The Perfect Blend: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet, but ultimately satisfying
The Beast of Extraordinary Circumstances had me feeling all kinds of emotions. I was so bitter at the way Weylen was treated by everyone around him. I also had a sweet spot for the life-long connection he developed with Mary. It gave me all the feels.
Green Tea: Name a book or series that is quietly beautiful
I am not sure what I was expecting when I picked this book up. I remember seeing it on the public library shelf, reading the synopsis on the sleeve and thinking: Thats sounds interesting.
HOLY MOLY! It was so beautiful, subtle, well-paced.
Chai Tea: Name a book or series that makes you dream of far off places
I absolutely loved this series when I read it a few years back. I made me imagine what it would be like to be in the same situation that Amy finds herself in. If you have not read it yet, please do. Beth Revis created a world that doesn’t feel that faraway.
Earl Grey: Name your favourite classics
I remember the first time I read Lord of the Flies vividly. It completely sucked me in. The images that Golding created was extraordinary. Its one of the first books that come to mind when someone says “classic”
