Hey y’all! Weekly Wrap Up is a bleep where I give quick recap about my blog, reading adventures, and life in general of the past week. I also may include some rambling!
If you have a Sunday post like this, please leave a comment. I’d love to check it out!
- To Kill a Kingdom By Alexandra Christo
- The Next Together by Lauren James
Here’s all the posts from this past week, in case you missed it!
- Circe by Madeline Miller
I really enjoyed this book. The greek mythology was intriguing to me. I didn’t love it like I did The Song of Achilles but still in all I thought it was good.
The way Miller writes these mythical character that makes them to real is truly amazing and much more relatable.
Here is the Goodreads synopsis:
In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child–not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power–the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.
Threatened, Zeus banishes her to a deserted island, where she hones her occult craft, tames wild beasts and crosses paths with many of the most famous figures in all of mythology, including the Minotaur, Daedalus and his doomed son Icarus, the murderous Medea, and, of course, wily Odysseus.
But there is danger, too, for a woman who stands alone, and Circe unwittingly draws the wrath of both men and gods, ultimately finding herself pitted against one of the most terrifying and vengeful of the Olympians. To protect what she loves most, Circe must summon all her strength and choose, once and for all, whether she belongs with the gods she is born from, or the mortals she has come to love.
My reads for next week are:
- Other People’s Houses by Abbi Waxman
- The Story of Our Lives By Helen Warner
The school week went by kinda slow. It was state-testing week so that means long days in being stuck inside.
However, Friday night was date night for the hubby and I. WE had a great time at the LSU baseball game. An evening under the lights with perfect weather couldn’t have worked out better.
We also took the boys to the local Fireman’s Fair. They had a blast. We were there for 4 hours. Yes I said FOUR.
14 Days Until Summer!!!!
- Not lose my mind with my wild students ready for summer
- I am worrying less about my Goodreads Challenge. End of year is hectic. I will got my read on this summer.
That’s all y’all…LOL! How was your week? Have you read any of the books I listed…give me the scoop? Any thoughts about my week? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by! — xx
