Weekly Wrap Up & Sunday Coffee (7/22)

Hey y’all! Weekly Wrap Up is a bleep where I give quick recap about my blog, reading adventures, and life in general of the past week. I also may include some rambling!

Isn’t this mug super cute?! I wouldn’t mind having this lovely in my collection.

Its a check-out from the library.

Yeah! I said I would do that. My willpower is shot in that regard. LOL

Here’s all the posts from this past week, in case you missed it!

Ghosted by Rosie Walsh

My Thoughts:

WOW! Thats all that comes to mind as I read the last few words.

I had a similar reaction to finishing “The Woman in Cabin Ten”.

The suspense, questions, misdirection, love, despair, tragedy…many times I thought i had figured out what was going on only to find out that I was about 10 miles from where the story really went.

I couldn’t put this down. I loved it. The story was fresh and different. I hadn’t read anything like this up to this point in time.

five-starsfive-starsfive-starsfive-starsfive-starsIT WAS AMAZING! I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN! I’M TOTALLY OBSESSED! — This book was absolutely breathtaking. I LOVED it. These books often stay with me for a long time.  After finishing, I can’t stop thinking about it. Highly Recommended!

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:

Seven perfect days. Then he disappeared. A love story with a secret at its heart.

When Sarah meets Eddie, they connect instantly and fall in love. To Sarah, it seems as though her life has finally begun. And it’s mutual: It’s as though Eddie has been waiting for her, too. Sarah has never been so certain of anything. So when Eddie leaves for a long-booked vacation and promises to call from the airport, she has no cause to doubt him. But he doesn’t call.

Sarah’s friends tell her to forget about him, but she can’t. She knows something’s happened–there must be an explanation.

Minutes, days, weeks go by as Sarah becomes increasingly worried. But then she discovers she’s right. There is a reason for Eddie’s disappearance, and it’s the one thing they didn’t share with each other: the truth.

How to Walk Away by Katherine Center

My Thoughts:

I don’t know how I would feel or react if the life I thought I had was ripped away by a tragic accident. Margaret had to learn “how to walk away” in every sense. There were times she was bitter, angry, heartbroken, hurt, depressed, anxious. I felt all those emotions with her.

four-starsfour-starsfour-starsfour-stars I WOULD PULL AN ALL-NIGHTER — This book was a really enjoyable read. I really liked it. Some moments I may have even loved.  I would recommend this book to most people and think most people would really enjoy this book. Go read this book!

Here is the Goodreads synopsis:

Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment.

In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect.

How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best: an utterly charming, hopeful, and romantic novel that will capture reader’s hearts with every page.

Book rating scales by Book Reading Like a Boss

My reads for this week are:

Only 5 left in my personal TBR stack. I did check out 3 books from the library this week.

I know I said I wouldn’t but did you expect it to be all summer. They were calling my name.

School has been a big deal this week. I have been doing a lot of prep to be ready for the start of school which is in about 18 days.

I have been busing cutting out brag tags which I use to reinforce positive behavior and expectations. I have also been hustling to tear out all of my math book chapters for each kid.

Its a pain in the butt when you are tearing out but makes my life easier to not have to wait each day for 32 kids to rip their daily papers out.

The boys and I are also trying to have some fun with the remaining time of our summer with trips to our public library, swimming, and watching movies.

I am in a really good reading groove right now. I have been reading things very quickly which I am loving. During the school year I continue to read for fun but just have less time.

Lime Vitality

Lime to me is such a happy summertime fragrance and/or flavor.

A drop in your water is a lovely way to stay refreshed during these hot summer days.

Its wonderful to put a drop or two in a marinade that calls for lime juice.

Lime is also great to promote positive energy as well as support for stress.

  • Working in my classroom getting for the beginning of school which is in 20 days
  • I am 4 books behind my Goodreads pace…slowly steadily catching up to the goal of 106. I may have to try and read some short ebook romances to get back on pace.

That’s all y’all…LOL! How was your week? Have you read any of the books I listed…give me the scoop? Any thoughts about my week? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by! — xx

I saw a very similar mug yesterday. Was tempted to get it, but it actually didn’t look like i could drink from it properly. Wouldn’t want my coffee end up in the cleavage 😂

Thats would be horrible. I find some mugs at time where I think the same thing…how does one drink out of this and not get scorched. LOL! It is adorable thought 🙂
